Well we have finished our Iditarod race for this year. Lance MacKay won again this year and was one of the mushers we were following. Ramey Symth came in 6th position and Hank Debruin who was from Haliburton, Ontario, scratched near the end for some reason. There seems to be some controversy over the scratch so we'll have to wait and see.
The children and I went to Carol's home for a St. Patricks Day/Iditarod Party. They made very cool clay sculptures seen here:
They also decorated the yummy sled and dog cookies made by Carol:
At lunch we did an Irish Potluck of Corned Beef & Cabbage, Colcannon, Irish Soda Bread, Green Cupackaes, and Apple& Oat Squares:
Lunch was terrific and so was dessert! A really fun day! Next month we are doing Holland, we'll have to hit Oma up for some ideas :)
Wow, it looks like you guys had a jolly o time:) I made corned beef and cabbage for the first time this year for St. Pat's Day. Mine was a little on the salty side, but otherwise delicious.
