The Gruesomes

I saw this cool idea while looking for something artsy fartsy to do and came across a site http://www.kinderart.com/sculpture/clayheads.shtml that was doing clay sculptures.

Deep thoughts...hmmmm
We used some scrap wood from our tree trimmings and an old board for the base

Shaping the paper so he can put the clay on top

The final paper placement

Piecing it all together

Our Gruesomes!
Mr. Monkey's is leaning somewhat LOL  We decided his looked most like an Orc from Lord of the Rings.  Mine we decided looked more like a troll :)

Strawberry Picking!

As most of you know it's strawberry season, so the kids and I went to pick some the other day at Barrie Hill Farms.  We were able to pick 3 big baskets in about 10 minutes, they are huge and juicy!

On the tractor heading out to the fields

Enjoying the ride as well!

Picking, picking...

YUMMY!

Entrepreneur Fair

Just this past Friday we had our Homeschool Entrepreneur Fair.  Here are some pictures of the kiddos and really great products:

Mr. Monkey used the money raised from his lemonade towards his Tourette Syndrome walk.  Thank you to all the families who supported him :)

One of the children using a shield the Mr. Monkey made and a helmet another homeschooler made!  It was pretty awesome :)

The children also listened to a guest speaker Ivan (a homeschooling parent and entrepreneur) who talked about investing and had the children in a frenzy to make more money and invest it wisely :)

Overall it was a stellar day!  The process was amazing as we talked about selecting the right product, costs, construction, appeal, pricing...it goes on and on.  A huge thank you to Carolina, who had this idea and got things in motion, you rock m'lady!  And thanks goes out to Angelina who secured a spot for us to have our fun and her husband Ivan who fired the children up for events to come!

A Weekend of Awareness

Celebrate Barrie - Our Fish Pond and balloons went over very well!

Waiting for the Magic to happen :)  Tourette Syndrome Walk 2010

What a busy few days!!  We were successful in connecting with some new families, teachers and an OT during Celebrate Barrie, our information got out to people who needed it.  Our walk was small but everyone there had a great time.  Jacob raised the most with $650.00, he picked a dinner and a movie prize so we could all get a little something :)  500.00 of that money was graciously donated by Gramma Elaine's employer Stepan Canada, we are very grateful for that, as is the Tourette Syndrome Association of Ontario!

Thank you to all who supported our family, we couldn't have done it without you :)
