Science Fair
We have now completed the Science Fair projects for this Wednesdays Homeschool Science Fair! The children had fun with their individual projects, testing out their predictions and watching the results! Here are a few pictures documenting the process:
This was before the gloves and he thought he could use his feet and my slippers LOL So funny!
The daughter was in the zone on this one, she wouldn't let me assist in any way unless she asked for the help. She would ask for spelling stuff once in a while and would tolerate me giving her an outline of sorts but that's it LOL

House Happenings
We've been keeping busy with various projects over the past week or so. Trying to do more at home and less running around :) We are taking the week off and going to Great Wolf Lodge for the children's vacation. They are so excited!!
Here are a few pictures:

Alayna and I saw this on another blog and decided to do our own version of a spring time scene :) She was so excited to be able to paint on the window LOL

Winter Trudge
This morning we went with friends back to a forest we visited throughout the summer months. It was a lot of fun and there was a tonne of SNOW! We were seriously over knee deep in some spots, lots of exercise I tell you!
We saw lots of tracks in the area, the creek was quite active as well. Lots of spots were not frozen due to the volume and speed of the water. The kiddos had fun climbing and exploring and the mommas trudged along LOL

Journey North
We are doing Journey North this year with friends, thank goodness LOL, and we are trucking along nicely. This exercise tracks spring here at home and then at 10 mystery locations. We get to try and figure out their locations using some highly complicated methods which Carol will enlighten me on later in the process LOL Seriously though, while not too complicated I really do need the help :) I must say having done it last year with just the 2 of us, I have come to realize more is better!! We are able to do the group exercises and extend out the content, it really is a lot more detailed.
Here are some pictures of the kids doing an exercise involving the earth and sun and how that relates to the seasons and hours through the day. Also shown is our colourful graphs showing total photoperiod for the mystery locations and separated into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Lots of fun :)

Just tuckered out!
Not sure of the biggest cause of the drain I've got, too much winter, too many activities...
Either way I'm finding that I'm pooped! I'm lacking motivation to cover topics in-depth and look for connections in other subjects to really solidify material. I think this is where schools have it better in some sense. The curriculum is laid out and they purposely look for cross curriculum connections for better understanding.
I'm very ready for winter to take a back seat and many of the activities we have to end. Things will settle in March and it will be most welcome.
So I guess for now I'll take a breath and accept what we have for now and make plans to bring it back around in March. UGH LOL
